Ever since Matilda Bay first started brewing beer, we have been committed to honouring the traditions of our craft and one such tradition is the brewing of a classic pilsner style lager – highly hopped, crisp and golden. This style was first brewed, circa 1842, in Plzen in Bohemia (now the Czech Republic).

Matilda Bay has always brewed a pilsner. Our earliest pilsner brands were called Matilda Bay Pils (draught) and Matilda Bay Premium (pack). We have continued to refine and evolve the brew in our attempt to brew Australia's best pilsner style beer possible – that's where our true-to-style Bohemian comes in.
